Double Dee's Brass Band will lead the Juneteenth Parade starting at 11:30 from the Museum of Art and History. Enjoy delicious soul food, basketball skills contest with Santa Cruz Warriors mascot Mavriks, non-profits ABC/African-American Community Health Group of the Central Coast Health Fair, NAACP Santa Cruz and the annual sack race!
The Santa Cruz Museum of Art & History will also host a Pop Up Museum that day. What's a Pop Up Museum? The theme of the Pop Up will be "African American contributions to Santa Cruz County, and will feature all of YOUR contributions to this temporary exhibit. The community is invited to bring their objects, photos, letters and words, or artworks that fits this theme to share in our fun Pop Up Museum experience. MAH Staff will be on hand to help you display your object and create a label that helps you tell your story. Basketball Skills Contest - Harbor High basketball coach, Lee Earl along with Parks and Recreation staff will lead kids and adults in fun, basketball skill-oriented games.
