Naturalist Night: One People One Reef

Thursday, August 25 2016 from 7:00pm - 8:30pm

Santa Cruz Museum of Natural History 1305 East Cliff Drive Santa Cruz, CA 95062

Micronesian outer Island communities are on the front lines of ecological and cultural change, and are facing declines in critical reef resources, and the benefits that healthy reefs provide. One People One Reef is a unique collaboration between a team of western scientists, local practitioners, chiefs and leaders, and community members to combine our collective knowledge to address these ocean challenges. We will discuss the approach, and the unprecedented results (multi-faceted) we are seeing in these remote islands of Yap state, Federated States of Micronesia–and why it matters to ocean conservation everywhere.

Advanced registration highly recommended. $12 General | $6 Children | Members 50% off.
