Saturday, April 22 2017 from 10:30am - 1:30pm

Cabrillo College 6500 Soquel Dr Aptos, California 95060

  • Spend Earth Day with Rosalind Creasy, a pioneer in the field of edible landscaping. We’ll start off with a mouth-watering lecture and slide presentation, then take a field trip to Far West Nursery and Garden Center, where you’ll use your new-found knowledge as you roam their two full acres of beautiful grounds. Learn about sustainable gardening, how to select the right plants for our climate, and the principles of landscape design particular to edibles. Rosalind shares her A to Z recommended edible plants for Santa Cruz area gardeners, and students get help finding edible selections available at Far West.
  • Each student receives a starter kit of edible plants and seeds selected by Rosalind and the experts at Far West, as well as other gardening goodies. Far West supports less toxic solutions to garden challenges and they have carefully selected organic products to keep your family and the environment healthy.
