Santa Cruz Jewish Film Festival - The Oslo Diaries film & discussion

6:00 pm –  Short films DEAR GOD and AN AVERAGE STORY present wistful looks at life in modern Israel.

Fresh from its world premiere at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival, and featuring never-seen-before footage, including the last on-camera conversation with former Israeli president Shimon Peres, OSLO DIARIES recounts a story of political intrigue, fiery rhetoric, unlikely friendships, and the overwhelming desire for peace at the heart of the secret and illegal 1992 – 2010 Oslo negotiations between Israel and the PLO.

Followed by a moderated discussion with Rachel Eryn Kalish, founder of Project Reconnections, a social justice and respectful dialogue project, and a talk by Etai Freedman of MEET, a non-profit organization seeking to create positive social and political change through technology & entrepreneurship across the region.  Don’t miss this informative exchange of ideas for creating a more just society in Israel and the Palestinian territories.

Admissions to all showings are on a first come – first seated basis.  Arrive early to assure seating.
