Share your love of nature: Become a docent

Help educate the next generation of environmental stewards! Join one of the leading providers of environmental education in Santa Cruz County as a volunteer docent at the Santa Cruz Museum of Natural History.

Spend time in nature, receive expert training in engaging youth, and learn about our natural world.

Teach intimate groups of elementary students in our museum, and out in the field at Neary Lagoon or Pogonip. Lead students through inquiry-based learning in discovering the importance of natural history right here in Santa Cruz County. Program topics include wetlands, watersheds, indigenous culture, animal adaptations, and more. No teaching experience required!

Join us on Thursday, October 10, 5-6:30 p.m. or Tuesday, October 15, 9:30-11 a.m. for a New Docent Orientation at the Museum. Light refreshments will be provided. Please RSVP to [email protected].
